Wong Tai Sin Temple

One of the most renowned temples in Hong Kong.

Wong Tai Sin Temple, officially known as Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple, is a renowned Taoist temple located in Chuk Yuen Village, Wong Tai Sin District, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is dedicated to Wong Tai Sin (or Wong Cho Ping), a Taoist deity from the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and it uniquely blends elements of Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism, exemplifying harmony among the three religions.

The temple, established in 1921, spans approximately 18,000 square meters and features several structures, including the Main Altar, Three Saints Hall, Nine Dragon Wall, and the Good Wish Garden. Its architecture incorporates traditional Chinese cultural elements and the five elements (Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth) to symbolize balance.

Known for its "efficacious answers to prayers," the temple attracts many worshippers seeking blessings, fortune-telling, and fulfilling vows. The statue of the God of Marriage (Yue Lao) is especially popular among those praying for love and relationships.
