For a taste of traditional dim sum culture in Hong Kong, look no further than Lin Heung Tea House. This century-old establishment, which originated in Guangzhou, made its way to Hong Kong in 1926 and has been a beloved institution ever since. In 1996, it relocated to its current spot on Wellington Street.

Lin Heung retains the classic tea house atmosphere, where patrons can enjoy tea served in traditional teapots by waitstaff carrying large kettles. The dim sum is still sold from trolleys pushed by servers, featuring old-school favorites like big buns, pig liver siu mai, and steamed turnip cake. This unique ambiance attracts not only locals but also tourists eager to experience authentic Hong Kong dining.

After closing in 2022 due to the pandemic, Lin Heung Tea House is set to reopen in April 2024 at its original location. The new venue will also introduce a tea drink shop on the ground floor, offering innovative beverages made with traditional Lin Heung tea leaves and carefully selected teas from around the world, such as the milk cap flower tea "Fleeting Dreams" and "Falling Blossoms" made with Nanjing Yuhua tea, aiming to attract a younger crowd.
