Law Uk Folk Museum
is a historic Hakka house in Chai Wan, showcasing traditional architecture and Hakka heritage.
Law Uk Folk Museum is a historic Hakka village house in Chai Wan, dating back over 200 years. Featuring a traditional three-room, two-corridor design, it was once the home of the Law family, a Hakka clan, and was declared a Declared Monument in 1989.
The house retains its central courtyard, surrounded by bedrooms, a kitchen, and storage rooms, while the front yard once served as a rice-drying and social gathering space. Restored as a cultural exhibition venue, it now showcases Hakka furniture, farming tools, and artifacts from early Chai Wan life, offering a glimpse into Hong Kong’s Hakka heritage.
With its preserved architectural features and engaging exhibits, the museum presents an authentic journey into the traditions and lifestyle of Hakka communities.
