Kowloon Walled City Park

is a historic site in Hong Kong, blending preserved relics with classical garden design.

Kowloon Walled City Park, located in Kowloon City, Hong Kong, stands on the site of the former Kowloon Walled City, a place rich in history. Once a densely populated and unique urban settlement, the Walled City was a significant part of Hong Kong’s development. In 1994, the government transformed the area into a park, preserving historical relics such as the South Gate stone plaque, the original yamen (government office), and ancient cannons, offering a glimpse into its past.

Designed in the style of Jiangnan gardens from the early Qing Dynasty, the park features elegant pavilions, flowing water, and lush greenery, creating a peaceful retreat. An exhibition hall within the park showcases the history and culture of the Walled City, allowing visitors to explore its fascinating transformation. Strolling through the park, one can appreciate both its scenic beauty and historical significance.
